Mounjaro in Kyoto Japan for International Visitors

Kajiyama Internal Medicine Clinic in Kyoto provides Mounjaro® (tirzepatide) for international visitors to Japan.

If you normally use Mounjaro and have forgotten to bring it, run out during your trip, or need a prescription while staying in Japan, please contact us.

An in-person consultation at our clinic is required. We do not offer online consultations for international visitors.

Special Pricing for International Visitors with BMI 30 or Higher

Special pricing is available for international visitors with a BMI of 30 or higher.

Your height and weight will be measured at our clinic, and eligibility will be determined using the BMI calculated from these measurements.

For international visitors, the special price is the same for everyone with a BMI of 30 or higher, regardless of whether your BMI is 30, 33, 35, or higher.

If medically appropriate, up to approximately 6 months of Mounjaro may be prescribed.

Mounjaro Prices in Kyoto

For patients who do not use the BMI 30+ special pricing plan, the price depends on the number of boxes purchased at one time.

Each box contains 2 pens (2 weeks). Mounjaro is sold by the box.

Example:
1 box of 2.5 mg + 3 boxes of 5.0 mg = 4 boxes in total.
¥8,000 + (¥14,000 × 3) = ¥50,000

• Maximum purchase: 12 boxes at one visit

• 12.5 mg and 15.0 mg are available by special order and are not regularly kept in stock.

• Please contact us in advance if you require 12.5 mg or 15.0 mg.

Consultation Fee

A first consultation fee of ¥2,200 applies.

The dose and quantity prescribed will be determined by the doctor based on your current treatment, medical history, medications, and health condition.

A specific dose or quantity cannot be guaranteed.

If you are already using Mounjaro, please bring information about your current dose, treatment period, and most recent injection, if available.

English Medication Certificate

If your total payment is ¥40,000 or more, an English medication certificate will be issued free of charge.

If your total payment is less than ¥40,000, a fee of ¥3,300 will be charged for the English medication certificate.

How to Make an Appointment

Because our reception staff have limited English-speaking ability, we do not accept appointments by telephone for international visitors.

Please make an appointment through LINE or our online booking system.

You are also welcome to visit our clinic directly during reception hours without an appointment.

During your consultation, we can use a translation app to assist with communication.

Important Information About Mounjaro in Japan

Mounjaro® contains tirzepatide, a GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist.

In Japan, Mounjaro is approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Its use for weight management differs from its approved indication in Japan.

Zepbound® contains the same active ingredient, tirzepatide, and is approved in Japan for the treatment of obesity in patients who meet the approved criteria.

Treatment at our clinic is provided on a self-pay basis.

All Mounjaro supplied by our clinic is obtained through authorized pharmaceutical wholesalers in Japan.

Eligibility for the BMI 30+ Special Price

The special pricing plan is available to:

• International visitors traveling or temporarily staying in Japan

• Patients whose BMI is 30 or higher based on height and weight measured at our clinic

• Patients who can receive an in-person consultation

• Patients whom the doctor determines are medically suitable for Mounjaro treatment
